How does the app work?
The app continuously scans coupon sharing and aggregation websites like Honey, SlickDeals, RetailMeNot and many more, to detect flag coupon codes that get leaked.
- As soon as a coupon code is leaked, it notifies you by sending you an email.
- You can also set the app to automatically disable coupon codes that are leaked to mitigate the issue right away.
If there are coupon codes that you do not want to have disabled even if they get leaked, you can mark them with the "Do not disable" checkbox in the app.
What to do when a coupon code is leaked?
🕵️♂️ Investigate the Leak: Check your coupon distribution channels to find where the leak occurred. Keeping things secure is the key to success!
✉️ Reach out to the coupon hunting website: You can try reaching out to the coupon hunting website in question and kindly ask for the code to be removed.
📢 Communicate with Customers: Inform your customers about the issue, apologize for any inconvenience, and consider offering an alternative deal to keep them engaged.
🔒 Enhance Security: Ensure your future coupon codes are better protected, and consider using unique, one-time-use codes for added protection.
Can the app prevent extensions from injecting coupons into the checkout?
The app does not provide this feature and no app will be able to do so since Shopify has deprecated the checkout.liquid file. This means that Shopify Plus accounts will no longer be able to add scripts to the checkout.liquid template file which makes it impossible to prevent extensions from injecting coupon codes.
Bee Keeper focuses on the upstream issue and instead mitigates the problem by detecting the leaks and providing solutions beforehand.
